Service Description

Bridge&Harbor, LLC ("Bridge & Harbor," "we," "us") provides Chrome browser extensions for Canvas LMS — Breeze, Helm, Compass, and Keel (collectively, the "Extensions"). These Extensions read Canvas LMS pages you are already authorized to view and present the data in a more useful format. They do not modify Canvas's database, bypass Canvas's permission system, or access data beyond what your Canvas role authorizes.

Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using any Bridge & Harbor Extension, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extensions.

License Grant

Bridge & Harbor grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extensions for their intended purpose — enhancing your Canvas LMS experience as an authorized Canvas user. This license is for personal, non-commercial use unless you have a separate institutional or commercial agreement with Bridge & Harbor.

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extensions, or attempt to derive their source code.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Bridge & Harbor Extensions only:

• With Canvas LMS instances where you are an authorized, authenticated user
• To access Canvas data you are already authorized to view through your Canvas role
• In compliance with your institution's policies regarding browser extensions and Canvas usage

You may not use Bridge & Harbor Extensions to:

• Access Canvas data you are not authorized to view
• Circumvent Canvas authentication, authorization, or access controls
• Scrape, harvest, or export Canvas data for purposes unrelated to your authorized Canvas role
• Impersonate other Canvas users

AI Features

Certain Extensions (Helm and Compass) include optional AI features that require you to provide your own API key from a supported AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). When you use AI features, your content is sent directly from your browser to your AI provider. Bridge & Harbor does not see, route, or store this content. Your use of AI features is also subject to your AI provider's terms of service and privacy policy.

Subscriptions and Payment

Some Extensions offer free tiers and paid Pro tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at purchase. You may cancel at any time. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact [email protected].

No Warranty

The Extensions are provided "as-is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Bridge & Harbor does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Extensions. Canvas LMS is a product of Instructure, Inc., and Instructure may change their platform at any time, which may affect the functionality of Bridge & Harbor Extensions. We are not affiliated with Instructure.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bridge & Harbor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of or inability to use the Extensions.

Bridge & Harbor's total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Extensions shall not exceed the amount you paid to Bridge & Harbor in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and may post a notice on bridgeharbor.app. Continued use of the Extensions after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Extensions at any time by uninstalling them. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Extensions if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Extensions ceases immediately.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Iowa.
